The American Alliance of Football has rosters built with former college football standouts. Which ones will have the most impact in its inaugural season?

The newly-minted American Alliance of Football (AAF) is scheduled to kick off the weekend after the conclusion of Super Bowl LIII.

As an alternative watch to the NFL, the AAF has the potential to become football’s flagship developmental league –– in a similar fashion to how the USFL functioned in the 1980s.

Some of the best football players were nabbed from the USFL and eventually became top-notch professional players.

Some familiar names of this bunch include running back Herschel Walker and quarterbacks Jim Kelly and Doug Flutie, just to name a few.

With the AAF comes a mixed bag of journeys and paths among the players which landed them in the league. The players come from notable to unknown and from prominent blue blood schools to programs not necessarily known for football.

For some, they were once rostered on NFL teams, but eventually didn’t play up to par and were released. In this case, the new league might revitalize their careers and grant them an opportunity to rise back to the ranks of the NFL.

For others, it will be about getting a chance in the first place. Some of these players went undrafted upon declaring for the NFL draft and now have a way to showcase their skills to impress NFL front offices.

With that being said, the AAF’s first season will feature an eight-team field filled with notable names that graced the college football landscape.

Here is a list of ten players who will impact the AAF and perhaps, receive a second chance at playing in the NFL.
