10. Scooby Wright, LB, Arizona Hotshots

Outside of his hometown in California, former Arizona Wildcat linebacker Scooby Wright’s college and professional career cemented itself mostly in the state of Arizona.

Wright played three years in Tuscon starting all but one game, where he racked up 270 tackles (159 solo tackles), 43.5 tackles for loss and 17 sacks.

Although he stayed at Arizona for three seasons before declaring for the NFL Draft, he was sidelined during his junior season in 2015 due to injury.

The year prior, he earned the distinction of being the Pat Tillman PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year and although not a finalist, appeared on the 2014 Heisman ballot.

His professional career took him to two separate destinations after being selected in the 7th round (250th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft.

His first stop was with the Cleveland Browns  –– the team that drafted him. Wright never saw game action with the Browns, but then he was claimed off waivers from the Browns’ practice squad by the Arizona Cardinals.

With the Cardinals, Wright only saw light game action, but still, at the ripe age of 24, he has an opportunity to make his way back to the NFL ranks.

Known for his fear-inducing eye black and terrorizing defensive presence, Wright is now back in familiar territory –– playing for the Arizona Hotshots in the AAF.

This list is comprised mostly of offensive players but Wright deserves a spot on this list for what he was able to do in what effectively was a mere two seasons in college football.
