No. 4: MJ Devonshire, Cornerback

While protecting the quarterback and creating lanes for the running back are of great importance, the Big 12 is all about skill-position players – the players those lineman are blocking for. And with the conference being such a pass-happy league, adding elite talent in the secondary is an absolute must.

MJ Devonshire, the 3-star Aliquippa (PA) cornerback, would be a welcomed addition to the WVU secondary. Many don’t think he’ll make it out of his home state of Pennsylvania, though, as the Pittsburgh Panthers are heavily interested in acquiring his talent.

Aliquippa’s been a hot recruiting spot for WVU in recent memory, signing players like Dravon Askew-Henry and Kwantel Raines. Askew-Henry just capped off an incredible career for the ‘Eers, while Raines looks to be the future in the West Virginia secondary as he enters his sophomore season. Could Devonshire join him?

Devonshire holds a handful of interesting offers, including Kentucky, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Syracuse, among others. And while he’s listed at 5-foot-11 and only 170 lbs., there’ll be plenty of time to bulk up and define his athletic frame.
