No. 5: Demariyon Houston, Wide Receiver

Texas already has a couple big-time wide receiver recruits joining them for the 2019 season, but with the early departure from Lil’Jordan Humphrey, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to be had at the position.

Three-star wide receiver Demariyon Houston doesn’t stack up with Humphrey very well, but who did? Houston, an Oklahoma City native, stands 6-foot-0 and is listed at only 160 pounds. So while he may not be physically ready to compete against other Big 12 schools, the new redshirt rule — allowing players to play four or less games and retain that year of eligibility — he could be still be a valuable piece to the team.

His list of offers include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and six Big 12 schools not-named Texas. While some people fall in love with the stars next to a prospect’s name, nearly every big-time program covets this three-star wide receiver from Oklahoma.
