No. 1: Jerrion Ealy, Running Back

Remember when the Texas Longhorns used to have an NFL-caliber running back every single season? That could very well be the case if Tom Herman were to get a commitment from five-star running back Jerrion Ealy.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound back from Flowood, Miss., is the No. 3 running back prospect in the country. And while he holds offers from Alabama and Clemson, heading to Austin seems like a sure-fire way to actually see the field sooner rather than later.

Ealy, while he possesses exceptional talent, would be just another guy at Alabama with the plethora of prospects they demand. And Clemson seems to have just as many big-time players on their roster. Depending on what Ealy wants to achieve, though — be apart of something that’s already built, or help rebuild a program once on Alabama and Clemson’s level — will likely influence his decision.

If Herman’s able to add Ealy to his 2019 recruiting class, Texas fans will be unbearable for the next six months. And while that seems like a bad thing for the Big 12, it’s a beautiful thing for college football. With the No. 5 recruiting class heading into National Signing Day, how high could the Longhorns climb?
