3. Lance LeGendre, Quarterback

The Florida State quarterback room is thin. Right now, Florida State has Deondre Francois as the starter and James Blackman’s name is swirling around the transfer portal. They bring in Louisville-transfer Jordan Travis who was the No. 25 dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class and is immediately eligible after playing only three games for Louisville a season ago.

After those guys, it’s a mystery as to who would play quarterback and that’s why Florida State desperately needs to bring in a quarterback.

Taggart already missed out on a quarterback in the 2018 class and must, must, must sign one in the ’19 class. A guy that seems interested in filling that need is Lance LeGendre. LeGendre hails from New Orleans, Louisiana and is looking in the direction of Florida State, Miami, and Tennessee. The No. 7 Dual-Threat in the class.

Willie Taggart’s Gulf Coast offense operates well with a quarterback that is familiar with an RPO system when they come in. Francois doesn’t have that background and had to rely on pre-play reads and built-in options to get the offense going. LeGendre can do just that and do that well as he’s shown throughout high school and when none of the options work he’s great at improvising. His ball velocity isn’t quite what I’d like to see which you can see on slower delivery’s in screen passes but that’s something that can be developed with a few tweaks over time.

LeGendre won’t start immediately but could steal the show in years to come.
