Maurice Hampton has been committed to LSU since July of 2016. That’s a long time for a recruit and sometimes when they’re committed for so long, they get the itch to go out and explore and they like the feeling of being wanted by other programs.

The four-star cornerback has been taking other visits and is even set to visit Ole Miss this coming weekend (Jan. 26) officially.

There may be a slight chance Ole Miss pulls off this flip, but he’s going to need a near-perfect visit to Oxford to make that happen. The Tigers of LSU are trending in a positive direction while Ole Miss is coming off a five-win season and a couple bowl-less years thanks to the Hugh Freeze situation.

Still, Hampton is seriously considering Ole Miss and Matt Luke needs to knock this visit out of the park if he wants to flip the four-star from Memphis, Tenn.

Hampton is ranked the No. 90 player in the class and the 12th-best cornerback, according to 247Sports.
