Ole Miss is a year away from losing three members of its starting defensive line to graduation and Matt Luke is lobbying hard to help fill that inevitable void.

Ishmael Sopsher would be the perfect replacement up front, but he’s going to be a lot of work to try to convince to join the Rebels. The four-star defensive tackle from Louisiana is projected to stay close to home and play for LSU, but a few other SEC schools believe they, too, have a shot.

Texas A&M, Alabama and Ole Miss are all in the running with LSU to land Sopsher and he’ll draw major attention on National Signing Day when he reveals his school of choice. One thing is for sure, he’s going to dominate the SEC for years to come so the three teams in the running that don’t land him will be letting out a collective groan.

Sopsher stands 6-foot-3.5 and weighs in at a whopping 335 pounds and is a load for opposing offensive linemen to handle. He is almost always going to draw double-teams and his strength is enough to overpower just about anyone — he’s definitely SEC-ready.

The four-star tackle is ranked the No. 47 player and fifth-best defensive tackle in the class, per 247Sports.
