Penn State defensive line coach Sean Spencer, nicknamed “Coach Chaos”, would love to add to his pack of “Wild Dogs”. The Lions picked up the commitment of defensive tackle D’Von Ellies after the Polynesian Bowl. Now they turn to acquiring Jaquaze Sorrells.

Sorrells, a four star prospect out of Orlando, Florida, is quite the physical specimen. Standing at six-foot-two and over 300 pounds, he would be quite the addition to Penn State’s rotation of defensive linemen and they particularly need to add to the depth at defensive tackle. Per 247Sports, he is the 14th-ranked defensive tackle in the nation.

Due to his stature, Sorrells only runs a 4.9 second 40-yard dash, but he would likely lose some of the weight once entering a collegiate strength training program. At Winter Park high school, he has racked up 178 total tackles with 35 going for a loss and 18 sacks.

Sorrells had been committed to Florida since the early part of his high school career, but it was when running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider was in Gainesville. Once Seider became a part of James Franklin’s staff, the Lions showed interest in the young defensive tackle. Sorrells is leaning South Carolina but Penn State has made up some ground since last summer. He’ll make final visits to both schools and make a decision for Signing Day.
