More: 5 prospects who helped their stock the most at the Senior Bowl
A beautiful January afternoon with plenty of sunshine and temperatures that reached the 60s delighted a crowd of 31,437 in Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Alabama’s “Port City.”
The North team, coached by Jon Gruden and the rest of the Oakland Raiders coaching staff, defeated the South team, coached by Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers coaches, by a score of 34-24. After falling behind 9-0 and 12-3 in the first half, the North team went on a 31-6 run over the next two and a half quarters to earn the victory.
Some standout players included Andy Isabella of UMass (7 receptions for 74 yards and one touchdown), Hunter Renfrow of Clemson (5 catches for 63 yards), and Duke’s Daniel Jones (8-of-11 passing, 115 yards, one touchdown).
As normal in many Senior Bowl games, there was a significant number of players from lower-tier FBS schools, FCS programs, and even a handful of Division II prospects intermixed with players from the more traditional FBS powerhouses.
