It’s been yet another highly successful recruiting cycle for Big Ten football. Who are some of the best that will join the conference in 2019?
The Big Ten didn’t boast many teams with many ludicrous recruiting classes, placing only two teams in the top 10 of 247 Sports team recruiting rankings (Michigan at No. 9 and Penn State at No. 10). However, in the top 40, the Big Ten had nine of its 14 schools rank within that range, trailing only the SEC, who has a ridiculous 13 of the conferences 14 schools in the top 40 of 247 Sports team rankings (Vanderbilt the only team not in it, they come in at No. 49).
That brings up another year where the top-tier teams such as Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and others bring in ridiculously talented freshmen. Last year, however, the best freshman to play in the Big Ten was stationed in West Lafayette, Indiana as Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore terrorized Big Ten defenses and played nothing like a true freshman with a historic performance against then-second ranked Ohio State.
While it is very rare to find a player of Rondale Moore’s talent in every recruiting cycle, there will no doubt, be some very talented freshman that find their way on to the field this season in the Big Ten conference. The first, of which, will be making the short drive down I-71 in central Ohio to play for Ryan Day’s Buckeyes.
