Despite their cooperation, Missouri football finds itself facing a bowl ban for 2019 and one has to wonder, will Kelly Bryant leave for greener pastures?

Suddenly it’s Week 4 all over again.

Whether it’s right or wrong, Missouri is facing a bowl ban due to athletes across several sports not completing their own work. A Missouri tutor is said to have felt pressured to intervene for the student-athletes but, according to the committee’s report, the investigation did not support that her colleagues directed her to complete the student-athletes’ work.

Nonetheless, Missouri football is facing a bowl ban for the 2019 season while baseball and softball will miss in the 2018-19 season.

Kelly Bryant has only one more chance to step out of the shadows of the now two national championship quarterbacks of Clemson and make a name for himself at a different school. He announced in early-December that he would join the Missouri Tigers next season, but the NCAA by-laws suggest that Bryant could leave Missouri for a different school considering the news without being penalized. Although his options have lessened with Jalen Hurts joining Oklahoma, Alex Delton joining TCU and Ben Hicks Joining Arkansas, there are still many options out there should Bryant decide to transfer again.

First up we look at the Group of Five options at which he’d fit right in.

7. Group of Five schools

Florida Atlantic Owls

Lane Kiffin’s second season at Florida Atlantic looked nothing like his first season as the 2017 Owls that went 11-3 fell to 5-7 a season later. A lot of the Owls’ success came from Jason Driskel late in the season as he threw for 2,247 yards and 15 touchdowns with a mere four interceptions. Florida Atlantic had much inconsistency at the quarterback position last season and the addition of Kelly Bryant would provide an instant upgrade over current starter Chris Robison should he decide to go the G5 route.

Arkansas State Red Wolves

The Red Wolves have made a name for themselves in the Sun Belt over the past two seasons by bringing in transfers from all over the country. A-Back Kirk Merritt came from Texas A&M, Receiver Justin McInnis was from Dodge City Community College, and quarterback Justice Hansen finished second in Arkansas State history in passing yards and first in passing touchdowns after transferring in from Oklahoma.

Now Bryant isn’t the same passer that Hansen is by any stretch but he could dominate the Sun Belt with his athleticism. Merritt’s return would allow Bryant a reliable receiving target as the Red Wolves try to claim their sixth conference championship since 2011.
