Ohio State Football: Top 5 remaining targets for 2019 National Signing Day
Another uphill battle for the Buckeyes on National Signing Day as four-star guard Enokk Vimahi remains unsigned. Ohio State is fighting with USC (the current favorite), Notre Dame and Oklahoma for Vimahi’s services, but it seems as if he will stay closest to home with the Trojans and Clay Helton.
The Buckeyes could use some depth at the guard position after losing some guys to graduation and the NFL draft this year, rostering just four players at the position with no one committed in 2019 just yet.
Vimahi would be an elite addition to the Buckeyes’ offensive line, especially at the last minute, and he’s a guy who could join the regular rotation almost instantly. His 6-foot-4.5, 265-pound frame is on the slimmer side, but he has plenty of strength and quickness to make up for it.
The Hawaii-native is listed as the No. 119 overall prospect and fifth-best guard in the class as well as the No. 1 player from the Aloha State.
Ryan Day is likely expecting to miss out here, but Vimahi would be quite the signing day victory if he somehow did pull this one off.
