Noticing a trend yet? Ohio State is in need of strong offensive line prospects and the Buckeyes have been going in on some of the top unsigned targets in the 2019 class to close out on a high note, but their No. 1 target has to be four-star commit Doug Nester.

Yes, I said commit because Nester has been verbally pledged to the Buckeyes since August of 2017, but he didn’t sign his letter of intent back in December.

Why has he yet to sign with the Buckeyes? Losing Urban Meyer probably hurt their chances but he’s also keeping his options open with some programs who could use him right away — though Ohio State is short on guards and would probably kill to keep him on board.

The Huntington, W.V., native is reportedly high on Penn State and Virginia Tech and not yet sold on the Buckeyes, but anything can happen in these next few days leading up to signing day. He officially visited Ohio State on Jan. 18 and his last visit will be to Virginia Tech on Feb. 2.

Nester is ranked the No. 106 overall player and sixth-best guard in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports. The Buckeyes would love to add a 6-foot-6, 305-pound monster to the position group.
