LB. Kentucky. Josh Allen. 2. player. 42.

Yes, much of the success that Kentucky experienced this past year can be credited to the play of running back Benny Snell. However, if you dig a little deeper into the turnaround in Lexington, you will find a name that sticks out: Josh Allen.

The linebacker was a three-year starter for the Wildcats, securing All-American status and the title of SEC Defensive Player of the Year this past season. Allen recorded 88 total tackles, including 21.5 for loss and 17 sacks. All of those numbers were career-highs for the 6-foot-5, 260-pound monster.

Allen could have bolted for the NFL last year, when many mock drafts had him tabbed as a first round selection after making 66 tackles with seven sacks. Instead, he returned and wowed opponents and NFL scouts.

Over his Kentucky career, Allen tallied 11 forced fumbles with 31.5 sacks and 42 total tackles for loss. He finished with 220 total tackles, 121 of them being solo stops.
