Michigan football fans are hoping for a strong finish to the 2019 recruiting class. Who are the top remaining targets as National Signing Day approaches?

The national media may be down on Michigan football these days, and that’s only because Jim Harbaugh hasn’t shown that he can win the big game in Ann Arbor.

In fact, Michigan was unable to beat Urban Meyer for the length of his tenure at Ohio State and Harbaugh was 0-4 against him. He also got smacked around in the bowl game against Florida, a team he usually had great success against. Year five will be a crucial one for Harbaugh and he has the talent to win some big games and compete for a national title.

No one can be complaining about Michigan’s ability to recruit under Harbaugh, though. The Wolverines have one of the top classes in 2019 heading into National Signing Day with a handful of targets left on the board.

The offensive line was the most improved unit on Michigan’s team last season as it went from ‘can’t block anyone’ in 2017 to essentially giving Shea Patterson all the time in the world to throw and Karan Higdon plenty of lanes to run through.

It can’t hurt to add depth to the position group and an under-the-radar guy like Danielson Ike from Kansas City would be a prime addition.

The three-star offensive tackle stands 6-6 and weighs in at about 300 pounds. He has shown interest in a handful of teams, including the Wolverines, Oklahoma, Kansas State, SMU and even Indiana. The Wolverines may be on the outside looking in, but crazier things have happened on signing day before.

Ike is listed as the No. 602 overall recruit and 47th-best offensive tackle in the nation, according to 247Sports.
