OK, this is a recruit who looked like a serious target a couple weeks ago, but has since fizzled out because he cancelled his official visit to Knoxville and decided instead to visit Tallahassee. Until he’s officially signed his letter of intent, though, you can’t say that he’s not a top target for the Volunteers.

Lance LeGendre is the No. 8 dual-threat in the country as well as the No. 258 overall prospect, per 247Sports, and he looks destined to take his talents to Florida State. The Seminoles did just lose Deondre Francois after a controversial video was leaked, suggesting that he was guilty of domestic abuse against an ex-girlfriend.

That leaves the Seminoles with James Blackman under center while Tennessee feels good about Jarrett Guarantano entering his junior year and becoming the clear starter for the Volunteers.

It wouldn’t hurt to add an eventual replacement like LeGendre who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 205 pounds with all the athleticism in the world, but the chances now are slim — a new development.
