South Carolina football could really use some positive momentum following a disappointing 2018 campaign. National Signing Day could provide the perfect spark.

Gamecock fans were certainly hoping for more during the 2018 season. Many experts predicted South Carolina would challenge Georgia for the SEC East title, and at the very least, finish right behind the Bulldogs in the standings. However, the 2018 Gamecocks never looked ready to accomplish those lofty goals.

With the disappointment in mind, Will Muschamp heads into National Signing Day looking for a bump to bring positive momentum back to the South Carolina football program.

Every year since his arrival, Muschamp has finished with a higher-ranked recruiting class than the previous year. Currently, South Carolina owns the 21st ranked 2019 class heading into National Signing Day. Muschamp hulled in the 17th ranked class in 2018, so he’ll need to make a splash to finish better than last year’s ranking.

That splash would be accomplished if South Carolina signs several of their top five remaining targets on National Signing Day.
