4. Alan Fischer (WDE/Lakewood, WA) – 2 stars

At this point, 2-star Lakewood, Washington defensive end Alan Fischer does not hold an offer from the Cougars, but has been offered a spot as a preferred walk-on. With other options potentially falling through, however, it wouldn’t be surprise to see Leach extend a scholarship offer to Fischer in the next 24 hours.

As of now, Fischer doesn’t hold any DI offers; 247Sports shows that his only current offers are from Central Washington and Redlands.

At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Fischer has the size to play at the FBS level, but he hasn’t been recruited by many top programs. Utah has also shown interest in Fischer as a preferred walk-on, and it seems likely that he will take one of the two power-five preferred walk-on spots over his scholarship offers from the small schools.

The Cougars are losing a pair of starters on their defensive line and other contributing backups, with rising seniors plugging in and taking those spots. Adding depth to their defensive line through this recruiting cycle was key, and while they have two players at his position already signed, adding Fischer would provide further needed depth.
