1. Sione Vaki (S/Brentwood, CA) – 3 stars

Washington State had to retool their secondary this offseason, and while Leach has done so with the aforementioned junior college prospects, there’s still a need for some incoming freshmen to join the class to build for the future.

Three-star safety Sione Vaki from Brentwood, California could be the diamond in the rough that a program like Washington State longs to uncover. Vaki was a standout at the Polynesian Bowl last month, and holds a bevy of Power Five offers.

Programs like Tennessee and USC have been hot on the trail, but it appears that his decision has come down to Utah and Washington State, with Kyle Whittingham’s Utes seemingly holding the advantage.

Vaki visited Washington State on the last weekend of January, but Utah secured his final visit this past weekend. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has Utah as the heavy favorite, but Leach and his staff are undoubtedly blowing up Vaki’s phone in hopes of swaying him to the Cougars.

Despite his best efforts, Vaki is likely to sign with the Utes on Wednesday, furthering the likelihood that Washington State’s class will finish even lower than their current standing with other programs in the Pac-12 making bigger splashes on signing day to surpass them.
