Travon Walker was an important addition for Georgia not only because of his talent – a five-star stud – but also because Georgia lost six defensive linemen after the 2018 season. For most programs, losing so many players on the line would sabotage any chance of success, but with the signing of Walker, Georgia has the ability to plug in a young, potentially dominant run-stuffer in 2019.

At 6-foot-5, 272-pounds, Walker possesses the girth to swallow any hole on Georgia’s defensive line and will provide additional depth and talent at a vital position. Walker displayed the ability to adapt and succeed in different situations while competing in shot put and basketball in addition to football during his high school career. He’ll compete with Tyler Clark and Devonte Wyat for playing time.

Walker joins a team that could use an improvement against the run in 2019. Georgia finished 2018 ranked 31st in the country in rushing yards allowed per game and allowed over four yards per rush attempt. The Dawgs will also hope Walker can help get additional pressure on the quarterback.

Thanks to Smart’s rotation-happy scheme on the defensive front, Walker will surely see plenty of action in 2019.
