5. Zeke Correll, OG

Zeke Correll, a 6-5, 285-pound offensive guard out of Cincinnati has potential that rivals any guard in his class. Given Notre Dame’s propensity for pumping out quality offensive linemen and Correll’s exceptional talent, many have already been comparing him to the likes of Zack Martin and Quenton Nelson.

While these expectations are quite lofty, they certainly speak to the excitement that surrounds not only Correll, but the Irish class as a whole. Irish fans have seen the likes of Liam Eichenberg, Tommy Kraemer, and Robert Hainsey help the offensive line make major strides in the wake of significant losses, providing hope that the same can be done by those who come after them.

That’s where Correll comes in. After losing Mike McGlinchey and Nelson to the NFL, Eichenberg and Kraemer were thrust into full-time roles along the offensive line. Now, others will have to step up with standouts Alex Bars and Sam Mustipher on their respective ways to the NFL.

Should Aaron Banks and Trevor Ruhland take on permanent roles as well, the Irish would have very little game-tested depth at the ready should a starter go down. While Correll certainly needs some work before being game ready, his interior versatility should provide numerous opportunities should injuries plague the Irish offensive line.
