This was a very interesting recruiting cycle and start to the off-season on the transfer market for the Oklahoma State football program in terms of losing and replacing defensive line talent. A prospect that looked like a late like for this signing class for Oklahoma State wound up catching some traction with the LSU Tigers, with three-star JUCO defensive tackle Soni Fonua.

Yet, the Pokes were able to get a transfer added to the mix for this coming season with the former Colorado defensive tackle Israel Antwine making his way to Stillwater. Antwine and three-star Snow College and Reno, NV, defensive tackle Sione Asi are two linemen that are going to help fill some departing talent for Knowles.

If Oklahoma State had been able to land Fonua just before National Signing Day, it would have nearly filled every void along the defensive line to the best of its ability. But, adding Asi and Antwin is a very solid haul that can help at least plug some holes to a relative degree to start off the 2019 regular season.

What Asi is set to bring for the Oklahoma State defense is a stout 6-foot-1 and 305-pound anchor that ranked among the top 85 2019 JUCO prospects in the nation. Asi is a strong run-stopper and gets a pretty good push up the middle to make an impact for the pass rush. He might be more of a rotational player to start things off in 2019, but we’ll see plenty of Asi the next two years.
