3. Drew Lock — Missouri

Drew Lock was a four-year starter and was incredible for three seasons at Missouri and for that reason, he was already in the discussion as a first-round draft pick.

He posted big numbers, tossing the ball for 12,193 career passing yards and 99 career passing touchdowns. When considering his rushing totals, he accounted for a total of 108 touchdowns.

Lock is another quarterback on this list that naturally possesses good size and athleticism. He has displayed his big play potential –– especially based on his junior year when he averaged 10.2 yards per passing attempt.

He has a pretty unique throwing motion which is slingshot-like –– he gets the ball to his release point in an instant and flings it effortlessly on a line to his target. Additionally, he has a rapid release and doesn’t waste a lot of motion.

At Missouri, he wasn’t afraid to take deep shots down the field, a skill necessary to succeed at the next level.

According to some scouting reports, he draws comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Upsides: Arm strength, ball acceleration, quick release, escapability

Downsides: Regression in touchdown passes his senior season, career completion percentage less than 60 percent
