You would think that an Omaha, Neb., native would be a lock to commit to Nebraska, right? Well, Nick Henrich ultimately ended up with the Cornhuskers, but he was being courted by Wisconsin and Notre Dame and each of those programs had a chance to land him until he officially signed with Nebraska.

Henrich is the No. 92 overall recruit in the class as well as the sixth-best inside linebacker, according to 247Sports.

The four-star linebacker from nearby Omaha has incredible straight-line speed to the ball-carrier and he’s incredibly quick off the snap. If Nebraska is going to run a plethora of blitz packages, it would benefit the Cornhuskers to have Henrich on the field. He can get into the backfield quicker than most linemen can even react to the blitz and before the quarterback knows what to do with the ball.

Nebraska needs some new blood in the middle of the defense even though Mohamed Barry is the leading tackler on the team and he’ll be back, but Henrich could compete with Collin Miller for snaps.
