Ohio State football finished with one of the best classes in the country for 2019, but which incoming freshmen could have an immediate impact?

Urban Meyer may be gone, but Ohio State isn’t too worried. The Buckeyes have replaced him with Ryan Day who learned under him and will take that knowledge and make sure Ohio State doesn’t take a step back in 2019, and beyond.

It all started with the 2019 recruiting class and Day did a solid job of keeping the class relatively intact. It was ranked just 14th in the country, which is low for the Buckeyes’ standards, but that’s after a few guys de-committed. Plus, you can’t discount the fact that Day lured Justin Fields from the transfer market which is just as good as landing the No. 1 quarterback in the class.

There are a number of 2019 signees who could have an immediate impact for the Buckeyes but it’ll be hard to push for snaps with the amount of talent returning.

Which incoming freshmen can have an immediate impact for Ohio State?

Ohio State is losing some serious talent and depth from the receiver position heading into the 2019 season and that’s where four-star wide out Jameson Williams comes into play.

The Saint Louis, Mo., native is ranked the No. 82 overall prospect and 13th-best receiver in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports, and stands 6-foot-1.5 and weighs in at about 170 pounds. He’s on the smaller side of things, but he’ll have no problem adding some weight when he gets to campus over the summer.

With Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon and Terry McLauren gone, there’s going to have to be some young guys who step up and prove themselves worthy of early snaps.

Why not trust the talented top-100 receiver from Saint Louis?
