Remember when I said Ohio State dipped into SEC country to swipe a couple of top-ranked recruits? Well, the Buckeyes also stuck their hands into the Big 12’s cookie jar and escaped with five-star wide receiver Garrett Wilson from Austin, Texas — yes, the hometown of the Texas Longhorns.

However, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were actually up there with Ohio State as finalists to land him and not necessarily the Longhorns.

Though Wilson isn’t the biggest receiver at 5-foot-11.5, 175 pounds, he often plays bigger than his size and uses his athletic frame to make tough catches in traffic as well as racking up the yards after catch that could make any quarterback blush.

If you’re looking for a player comparison, 247Sports has likened him to a Tylan Wallace-type of receiver from Oklahoma State and if you watched any Cowboy games this season, you’d realize that’s quite the compliment.

Wilson is listed as the No. 20 player in the class as well as the second-best receiver and he, like Jameson Williams, will help ease the pain of losing a trio of talented wide outs.
