Duke looked to be having quite the turnaround year after going 7-6 in 2017 as it started the 2018 season with a 4-0 record and then improved to 7-3 with an opportunity to finish with nine wins before a bowl game.

The Blue Devils then lost 35-6 at Clemson and their confidence was shot as they hosted Wake Forest which looked like a sure win, but the Demon Deacons blew the doors off Duke, 59-7.

Daniel Jones is now gone which makes Notre Dame’s job that much easier in Durham. As long as David Cutcliffe is the head coach of the Blue Devils, though, no win against Duke is a sure thing despite what happened at the end of the 2018 season.

Losing Jones will be tough for Duke and replacing him will be next to impossible, at least right away. Ian Book will be the top performer between the two teams, recording 300 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception while Chase Claypool has his best game of the season.

Final Score: Notre Dame 35, Duke 14 (7-2)
