Quarterback

Starting Quarterback: Kellen Mond
Backup: Connor Blumrick

It seems like so long ago that Kevin Sumlin was trying to fit Kellen Mond into a Nick Starkel shaped hole. Since then, Mond has grown into an incredible starting quarterback within the Southeastern Conference. Is he going to win a Heisman trophy? Probably not, but he will do enough to win a pretty substantial amount of games, maybe even pull off an upset or two.

Mond threw for over 3,000 yards last season and including another 500 yards on the ground in 2019, thriving under a coach who truly believed in him and it showed, week in and week out on the field. He learned and he grew week after week and that was beautiful to watch. He has nowhere to go but up in 2019.

With Nick Starkel transferring to who knows where, Connor Blumrick likely moves into that backup spot for the Aggies. The sophomore has yet to really see playing time, but may get just that in 2019 in those games that the Aggies score enough for the backups to come in. Otherwise, it is Mond’s world and we are all living in it.
