3. Ole Miss or Georgia, which one is becoming Wide Receiver U?

The question here is this: is Georgia or Ole Miss becoming “Wide Receiver U?”

I could spend hours and hours talking about DK Metcalf. He is insane and honestly barely even human it seems. He ran a 4.33 40 yard dash, the fastest by anyone his size ever. He is 6-foot-3-inches, 228 pounds and has all of 1.6% body fat. He put up a 40.5 inch vertical and had 27 reps on the bench today. His comparison? Julio Jones. Here are his stats from the combine: 6-foot-3-inches, 220 pounds, 4.34 dash, 38.5″ vertical and 17 reps. Beating out Julio Jones by that much? Wow. I mean, no big deal right?

He isn’t the only Ole Miss player doing big things though. AJ Brown ran a 4.49 40 yard dash- something that is pretty good for a guy that weighs 226. Did he run as fast as DK? No. Is he just as good and not as injury prone? Yup. Add DaMarkus Lodge to that list too, who ran a 4.55. Both of those guys may not be “freaks” like people are calling DK, but they are good and are going to make a team very very happy.

However, DK Metcalf isn’t the only guy running 4.33 40 yard dash. Meecole Hardman out of Georgia- who sits at 5-foot-10 and 187 pounds also ran it in that time and has shown the same kind of ball skills that the guys out of Ole Miss have. Riley Ridley, yes the younger brother of Alabama alum Calvin Ridley finished with a 4.58. It wasn’t the best time for him, but his acceleration and route running that he showed off through the drills was absolutely remarkable. He will be just as good as his brother, let me tell you that right now.

My vote goes with Ole Miss, but both of these schools, and Ohio State for that matter, are cranking out wideouts like gum in a gumball machine.
