2. Could Noah Fant take the spotlight from TJ Hockenson?

Everyone was sure that TJ Hockenson was going to be the TE to watch as he was the John Mackey Award winner, labeling him as the top tight end in the nation. It was going to be either him or Caleb Wilson out of UCLA. Wilson impressed with a 4.56 40 yard dash and a 29 inch vertical. However, all of that was expected. Now, the focus is on the two guys out of Iowa- both good, but one that made himself some big money from the Combine- Noah Fant.

Fant finished with a position leading 4.5 40 yard dash as well as 20 reps, a 39.5 inch vertical and a 127-inch broad jump. He was expected to be good, but man those are big numbers for a tight end who had a teammate who’s shadow he sat in the majority of the season. Did they play two different jobs? Maybe, maybe not. Either way both of these guys are amazing tight ends.

The John Mackey Award Winner, Hockenson ran a 4.7 40 yard dash, had 17 reps on the bench, a 37.5 vertical and a 123-inch broad jump. He was no slouch for sure, but Fant was easily the star tight end at the combine. It is his world and we are all simply living in it.
