Alabama Football: 5 reasons to be optimistic about 2019 season
By Shelbie Warr
3. New coaches offer a new perspective
The Alabama coaching tree continues to grow and spread out among other College Football programs. Just an example? Kirby Smart who has now brought Georgia back from the dead so to speak or Lane Kiffin who is struggling at FAU and has been called the worst coaching hire in the last decade.
Those are two opposite ends of the spectrum, but no matter what coaches that are part of the Nick Saban coaching tree will continue to be hired other places and continue to lose to him every time they set up to play.
For Alabama in 2019, there will be seven new coaches. Steve Sarkisian will be the new offensive coordinator in charge of the quarterbacks. Charles Huff is an associate head coach in charge of the running back position. Holmon Wiggins will be in charge of the wide receivers and Kyle Flood is the offensive line coach. On the defensive side of the ball, Brian Baker is now the defensive line coach. Charles Kelly is the associate defensive coordinator, in charge of the safeties. Finally, Sal Sunseri is in charge of the outside linebackers.
In my opinion, new coaches bring a different level of perspective. That perspective will help this team grow even more from the new feeling of losing a National Championship in the way that the Tide did. That is absolutely a reason to be optimistic because this team has a lot to learn from the loss.
