Texas A&M football has improved a lot in one year under Jimbo Fisher. What does this round of spring practice have in store for the Aggies?
Spring Practice is just around the corner for the Aggies, kicking off on March 20. Normally, it would start earlier, but Jimbo Fisher elected to wait until after spring break as to not interrupt the flow of practices. Now, they begin the process of replacing some big-time names like Kingsley Keke, Otaro Alaka, Trayveon WIlliams, Erik McCoy and Jace Sternberger.
Texas A&M finished 2018 with a 9-4 record and a middle of the road ranking in the Top 25. Finishing the season with wins against LSU and NC State was exciting for a team that has gotten used to late season fallbacks and disappointing conference play. Yes, it isn’t everything that Jimbo Fisher wants, but there is time to put that together. If they want to do it in 2019 though, this team has some holes to fill and some things to figure out before we head into the season. The schedule for the Aggies is as follows:
Aug. 31 vs. Texas State
Sept. 7 at Clemson
Sept. 14 vs. Lamar
Sept. 21 vs. Auburn
Sept. 28 vs. Arkansas
Oct. 12 vs. Alabama
Oct. 19 at Ole Miss
Oct. 26 vs Mississippi State
Nov. 2 vs. UTSA
Nov. 16 vs. South Carolina
Nov. 23 at Georgia
Nov. 30 at LSU
As the team prepares for that gauntlet of games- let’s look at the offense, the defense and some big questions facing this team as we head to spring practice.
