Georgia football had a successful 2018 season until the final two games but which guys can break out this spring to get the Bulldogs back to the top?

Kirby Smart has assembled one of the most talented rosters in college football and it continues to get better each offseason due to top-tier recruiting classes. The Bulldogs have come a long way since the Mark Richt days and they’re no longer falling short of expectations, although 2018 could be considered a disappointment because they didn’t win the SEC title.

Yes, losing to Alabama in the title game hurt and missing out on the College Football Playoff was even worse, but falling to Texas in the Sugar Bowl was borderline inexcusable.

Some guys need to step up this spring and fill some holes created by key pieces from last year if the Bulldogs are going to get back to the top of the SEC in 2019.

Which Bulldogs could break out this spring?

Georgia is down a center as spring kicks off with Lamont Gaillard graduated but that just opens the door for a guy like Clay Webb who was rated No. 1 at the position in the 2019 class.

Moreover, Webb is an early enrollee who will be present for spring practice and the game in April which has to cause some intrigue for fans looking for a potential breakout freshman. No, center isn’t the most exciting position to scout, but Webb could be the future there for the next 3-4 years, depending on how well he fares this spring.

There’s a reason this kid was a five-star and ranked the No. 26 player in the class and he’s ready to show that he’s ready to win the job. Oh, and stealing him from Alabama was a big win for Kirby Smart and Co. — Georgia landed the No. 1 and No. 2 players from Alabama in the class.
