Ohio State Football 2019 Mock Draft: Where will the Buckeyes land?
By Phil Poling
The Jacksonville Jaguars were a game away from the Super Bowl just two years ago. The quarterback they extended just after that season is no longer with the team. A unit that seemed to be the league’s next dominant defense all of a sudden fell apart. And the bruising rookie running back that would complement their hard-nosed defense continues to deal with injuries.

Drafting Ohio State’s Mike Weber isn’t a complete fix, but it would stop the bleeding. Fournette played in only eight games in 2018 and rushed for only 439 yards and five touchdowns. The Jags tried compensating for his absence by trading for Carlos Hyde, but he didn’t pan out and won’t be back in 2019.
Weber made a strong impression at Ohio State once given an opportunity, though. The 5-foot-10 running back amassed just over 1,000 yards and nine scores on his way to being named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2016. He played through injuries seemingly from then on, and became used to sharing the load in the backfield. While Weber doesn’t appear to be a No. 1 running back, he could be a solid contributor for a team who deploys a stable of backs.
