Auburn has a top cornerback to replace in 2019 by the name of Jamel Dean after he finished the 2018 season with 30 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and broke up nine passes.

Who could find himself in a position to take the No. 1 spot on the opposite side of junior Noah Igbinoghene? It looks like Christian Tutt is an early favorite after having himself a decent 2018 season where he recorded 25 tackles, a sack and an interception. He looked like a budding star even though he didn’t break up any passes, but the job looks to be his to lose.

Tutt happened to be a clutch performer for the Tigers a season ago with Southern Miss threatening to drive down the field in a Sept. 29 game to potentially tie the game at 21-21 late in the fourth quarter, but he happened to be in the right place at the right time. He picked off a pass that sailed over a Southern Miss receiver’s head and clinched the win for Auburn.

It’s that type of never-rattled attitude that makes good cornerbacks great. He has the tools be a solid contributor this year and I wouldn’t be shocked if he was an All-SEC selection sooner rather than later.
