Tyrion Lannister

The lovable imp Tyrion Lannister, played marvelously by Peter Dinklage, is the favorite character of many Game of Thrones fans.

He’s too small to ever be much help in battle, though he has had his moments throughout the series. He’s more in his element in an advisory role where he can utilize his best weapon: his mind. Tyrion is often billed as one of the smartest characters on the show, but he has regularly made mistakes that beckons how smart he actually might be. He can often get distracted by depravity.

A high born, Tyrion was never taken seriously by his own family or those in Westeros even when he was granted considerable positions of power. He’s now found a legitimate home as Daenerys Targarean’s Hand of the Queen. He’s a blue blood who lost his way and found it again. The little brother who at times is able to outwit his older, more physically impressive brother, and carved out a role for himself in a story that has tried time and time again to toss him aside into the scrap heap.

Tyrion is Auburn. The Tigers are often second-fiddle in their own state, but they have jumped up and won the SEC West three times in the last decade, including a pair of SEC titles and a national championship win in 2010 over Oregon.

Head coach Gus Malzahn enters the 2019 season on the hot seat, a spot that Tyrion has lived his whole life. Malzhan has often been praised for his offensive ingenuity, but he quite frequently outsmarts himself and the Tigers offense goes through periods of ineptitude.

The little brother to Alabama, Auburn has sat on the throne before, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them do so again.
