Alabama Crimson Tide. Quinnen Williams. 3. player. 30. . Defensive Tackle

The New York Jets acquired an offensive building block in the 2018 NFL Draft in Sam Darnold, and with the selection of Alabama’s Quinnen Williams they’ll add a staple to the defensive side of the ball.

The Jets have had success drafting defensive lineman early, too. Leonard Williams, the 6th overall pick in the 2015 draft, made the Pro Bowl in 2016. Both Williams’ had similar combine measurements, albeit years apart. The Jets could simply choose Quinnen to add him to the rotation or to fill Leonard’s shoes if they decide not to pay him next summer.

At 6-foot-3 and 303 pounds, Williams has the size to play nearly everywhere up front. Defensive tackle in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4 would likely see Williams put up his best numbers. He flourished at Alabama playing tackle, but he benefited greatly from teammates who could draw offensive attention. His ability to play across the line of scrimmage is incredible, though.
