This was an easy choice for No. 1. Matt Corral was the highly-regarded quarterback prospect in Ole Miss’ 2018 class but was forced to sit behind the talented Jordan Ta’amu during his freshman season. He still played a bit, completing 16 of his 22 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns which isn’t all that bad with limited snaps.

And in the annual spring scrimmage, he was one of few bright spots on the offensive side of the ball as they lost to the defense, 29-25.

Corral finished with 240 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 22-of-37 completions. His accuracy wasn’t ideal, but that’s something he can work on this offseason and it shows that the defense may just be improving after all.

Plus, Corral didn’t exactly have the plethora of weapons Ta’amu did a year ago with D.K. Metcalf, DaMarkus Lodge and A.J. Brown.
