The highest-rated receiver in Baylor’s 2018 class, Josh Fleeks was expected to do big things right away and he saw the field a bit, catching 14 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. It wasn’t the immediate impact he was expecting, but the former four-star was behind a ton of talent in the receiving corps.

Jalen Hurd is now gone which means Fleeks should garner more interest from Charlie Brewer in the passing game.

In fact, Fleeks is expected to be competing for a starting spot for the Bears alongside Denzel Mims and Chris Platt. Tyquan Thornton is going to push him for starting snaps after finishing fourth on the team in receiving last season, but that just goes to show how deep the receiving corps will be in 2019.

Expect Fleeks to have a big spring, highlighted in the spring game, which will carry over to the 2019 season. Baylor has been known for developing top-tier receivers and this kid should be no different as he has what it takes to be the next star in the receiving corps.
