Kansas State Football: Top 5 spring 2019 breakout candidates
Michigan State fans, and presumably coaches, are still scratching their heads over the transfer of Hunter Rison to Kansas State.
Word on the street at the time of the transfer was that his father wasn’t happy with the lack of targets Hunter was getting at Michigan State as a freshman which is confusing considering he caught 19 passes for 224 yards — not bad numbers for a true freshman.
The Spartans’ loss is Kansas State’s gain and the Wildcats figure to pass more under Chris Klieman’s control.
Rison was one of the most talented players in the Spartans’ 2017 recruiting class and he has strong hands to go along with impressive awareness and speed. He could be just what Kansas State’s offense needs moving forward and it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see him break out as one of Skylar Thompson’s top targets.
Kansas State fans have yet to see him live in action, but that will all change this spring and heading into a big sophomore season in the fall.
