It was tough to not slot Jalen Hurts in the No. 1 spot on this list, but there was one standout that may have helped his stock the most out of anyone.

No, Hurts didn’t quite need to improve his stock as he was the projected No. 1 quarterback anyways, but he did ensure that he would be trending up heading into the 2019 season with a strong showing this spring.

Hurts was the talk of spring ball from the start as he commanded his teammates’ respect and he had already put a stronghold on the offensive playbook. He was working hard to learn the offense and it paid major dividends during the spring game with a monster performance.

If there was any doubt about him replacing back-to-back Heisman winners under center, that has since changed.

Hurts looked like a serious Heisman candidate himself and made fans believe that winning three in a row may just be possible — along with another playoff berth. The quarterback position is more than locked down and Hurts is going to be a stud in his final season.

The senior passed for 174 yards, one touchdown and ran for another on 11-of-14 completions.
