3. Jaylen Erwin’s going to be fun to watch

Although there wasn’t much offense to speak of during Saturday’s spring game with a 3-0 final score and the defense stealing the show, one rising star that stood out was former JUCO prospect Jaylen Erwin who committed to the Bruins’ 2019 class and enrolled early out of Hutchinson C.C. in Charlotte, N.C.

Erwin caught a 50-yard pass from Austin Burton late in the game which nearly led to the only touchdown of the day, but he was reeled in at about the 3-yard-line and the defense stood strong to close the door.

The former three-star JUCO product looked the part of a serious offensive weapon for the Bruins throughout the spring game, making clutch catches and moving the chains when the offense needed it. He’s not the biggest guy out there at 5-11 and 173 pounds, but he makes up for that with speed and elusiveness.

Erwin is a big-play threat who could break through for a long touchdown at any given moment. Could he be college football’s next Marquise Brown as a JUCO transfer?
