Clemson football landed five-star defensive tackle Bryan Bresee who happens to be the No. 1 recruit in the 2020 class, helping the Tigers reload.

Dabo Swinney is at it again. One of the nation’s top coaches, and recruiters, lured the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 class, Bryan Bresee, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers won the recruiting battle over Penn State, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State, giving them their 12th pledge in the class and pushing them into the top spot in the national rankings, per 247Sports.

While he could have had plenty of success and may have succeeded early on at the other schools, Clemson has a strong recent history of developing elite defensive linemen. Heck, all you have to do is look at the 2019 draft class. Dexter Lawrence, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant and Christian Wilkins reigned supreme in college football over the past few years.

Now the Tigers have a reloaded line with guys like Nyles Pinckney and Xavier Thomas in 2019, and now Bresee will join them in 2020.

How does he fit? With presumed 2019 defensive tackle starter Jalen Williams graduating following the season, Bresee will contend with his fellow 2020 commits Tre Williams and Demonte Capehart who are both ranked in the top 100.

Tyler Davis is enrolled early in the 2019 class and could be another option to start at a tackle spot, but Bresee figures to see playing time from day one.

With a 6-5, 290-pound frame, is a monster in the middle with a quick first step, burst and strength to corral ball-carriers with ease. His highlight reel is more than impressive.

Bresee is a huge addition for the Tigers and he’ll be tough to block at the next level just like he was in the high school ranks and we can expect him to be a force for years to come.
