Jaylin Bradley surprised some people as a true freshman in 2017, rushing for 93 yards and catching four passes for 38 yards while ranking second on the team in kick return yards with 124. He was a do-it-all threat who wasn’t expected to contribute right away, but forced his way onto the field and looked to be a solid contributor in 2018, but was buried on the depth chart.

Freshman Maurice Washington took over in the backfield with Devine Ozigbo, forming a heck of a duo but now that the latter is gone (a 1,000-yard rusher in 2018) and the former going through some issues off the field, the backfield could be in Bradley’s hands.

If the spring game is any indication, the redshirt sophomore is going to have a breakout 2019 season.

Bradley carried the ball 12 times for a game-high 57 yards and took advantage of the uptick in reps because of Washington being limited and no Ozigbo.

The backfield could be more open than anticipated, but we could see Bradley taking over, or at least stealing some carries from Washington this fall.
