With the second pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, San Francisco selected Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa. Could there have been a more perfect fit for the Buckeyes’ pass rusher?

The first pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft went as expected, with the Arizona Cardinals selecting Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. The second pick wasn’t much of a surprise, either, as Nick Bosa has been a can’t-miss prospect during the entire draft process.
Bosa’s the perfect fit for the 49ers, too, especially as they continue building one of the best defenses in the NFL. They already added Dee Ford from the Kansas City Chiefs to attack the quarterback from one edge, but now have a complementary piece opposite Ford to balance things out. They already have former first round picks Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, and Soloman Thomas along the defensive line, giving them one of the best all-around defensive fronts in football.
The former Buckeye is going to cause fits for the NFC West, whether he’s actually racking up sacks or fighting off double-teams to free up his teammates. Is there any doubt the 6-foot-4, 266-pound Buckeye won’t be a menace at the next level? He’s dominated at every level of football since strapping up a helmet.
John Lynch and the San Francisco 49ers absolutely knocked this pick out of the park. Sure, the defensive line is a bit crowded at the moment, but rumors have swirled about moving Armstead. Either way, the 49ers get an A+ grade for drafting Ohio State’s Nick Bosa. He immediately upgrades their pass rush, which in turn will make things easier on the secondary.
