The 2019 NFL Draft will undoubtedly be filled with surprises. Here are five bold predictions for the first round, including what quarterbacks will be on the move.

The first round of the NFL Draft has always been must-see TV. Trades, surprises and the drama of picking under pressure tend to produce a bevvy of remarkable events. 2019 will be no different. Which players and teams could make headlines on Thursday night when Day 1 gets underway? Here are five bold predictions for Round 1.

1. Daniel Jones is picked inside the top 10

Of the last 11 quarterbacks selected in the first round, 10 of them were drafted by teams who traded up to make the pick. The lone exception, Baker Mayfield, was drafted No. 1 overall. That trend should continue this year. Kyler Murray will presumably go first overall to the Cardinals, and the other first round quarterbacks will hot-ticket items, too.

Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock have been labeled the next best options at the position in the 2019 class, but they won’t be the only passers drafted to be franchise signal callers. Duke’s Daniel Jones, despite his mixed reviews, will hear his name called in the Top 10.

His raised stock has nothing to do with his own talent, rather it speaks to the value of his position relative to others in this draft class. Worth it or not, Jones is about to get paid.
