The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft produced plenty of surprises. Which picks caught you most off guard?

The NFL Draft is always a crap shoot. Sure-things get passed over for guys with great potential. Low-production players go before conference players of the year. But college production doesn’t necessarily translate to success in the NFL. Although, the last three Heisman Trophy winners did get drafted No. 1 overall.

This creates plenty of uncertainty among franchises, especially when there’s no real consensus on who is ranked where. Kyler Murray, for example, is perfect for Kliff Kingsbury and what he plans to do with the Arizona Cardinals. But would he fit in San Francisco or Jacksonville? It’s possible, but he’s clearly undersized and a unique fit for a football team. But that’s why the draft is the most exciting three-day span of the NFL season.

We saw a handful of trades at the 2019 NFL Draft. Some teams moved back to accrue more picks, while others wanted to leap-frog somebody to snag their desired player. Couple those moves with unexpected selections, and the NFL Draft is one big surprise.
