Spring is officially over for Texas A&M football and a lot of growth has happened in such a short time. After all of this, why should we be excited?

While spring 2019 didn’t bring a Jace Sternberger-like moment, there was quite a bit to be excited about and a lot of questions to still answer, though that is for another article and another day.

This one is pure excitement and why you should be looking forward to what is looking to be a gauntlet of a season for the Aggies.

5. Jimbo Fisher isn’t going anywhere

Scott Woodward, the former Aggie athletic director, left the program for LSU in the recent weeks and many were scared that football head coach Jimbo Fisher could head that way with him quicker than you could blink.

It’s no secret that Scott Woodward is a big reason that Fisher moved from Florida State to be the head coach of the Aggies. However, does that mean that Fisher has no other reason to stay at Texas A&M now?

In short, the answer is no. In an interview with TexAgs, Jimbo made it very clear that he loved it in Aggieland. While Scott Woodward introduced him to Aggieland, he won’t be the reason Fisher choses to stay. That is his love for the people and the team itself. He finds Texas A&M to be a very unique place and wants to stick around to put together a championship team.

“People ask me, “When did you finally feel comfortable?” And I thought about it, and my answer was, “I never felt uncomfortable.” And I haven’t been since I’ve been here,” Fisher said. “This place fits my personality. I love the people. I love what’s here, and I’m planning on being here a long time. And hey, we got a job to do. And I wish them the best, but we’re going to find another great athletic director because this is a phenomenal place. And we’re going to go on, were going to win championships  and do the things we’re going to do”

If that doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will.
