59. RB. Washington. Myles Gaskin. 1. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

It is quite perplexing how Myles Gaskin slid all the way down to the final round of the draft. For the Dolphins, it’s quite possibly one of the best seventh-round picks of the draft.

Gaskin offered the epitome of the model of consistency during his four years at Washington — running for more than an astounding 1,200 yards in each of those seasons.

Additionally, he also played a factor in the passing game with a moderate number of catches and yards for the tailback position.

Throughout his college career, he was named to the All-PAC 12 First Team once and the All-PAC 12 Second Team twice.

Gaskin’s size will pose the greatest pitfall for his professional career. He checks in at 5-foot-10, smaller than the traditional measures of most running backs.

In spite of this, Gaskin is a great pick up for the Dolphins. He joins a new-look Miami offense with the recent addition of quarterback Josh Rosen, who was acquired by the team through a trade during the draft.

As it currently stands, the Dolphins only have three running backs on their roster — most notably Kenyan Drake. For this reason, Gaskin can factor in immediately and receive playing time.

While he won’t likely be able to be a three-down back at the NFL, his skills, along with the team that he was drafted to, put him in an advantageous position to make an impact early in his NFL career.
